80年代新英倫新浪潮正由Duran Duran、Culture Club、Wham、Tears For Fears大肆進軍全球樂壇之際，來自挪威的三人組合A-HA大概是最能在這股風潮中橫行無阻的非英倫隊伍。85年以一首Take On Me締創包括美國、德國、挪威等全球9個國家的排行冠軍，並奪下8座MTV音樂錄影帶大獎。吉他/詞曲創作靈魂Paul Waaktaar-Savoy、主唱Morten Harket與鍵盤手Magne Furuholmen自84年成軍以來，開張的「Hunting High And Low」、「Scoundrel Days」、「Stay On These Roads」3張專輯皆是英國專輯金榜上的亞軍大作，The Sun Always Shines On TV、Take On Me、Hunting High And Low、I掯e Been Losing You、The Living Daylights(007電影「黎明生機」主題歌)、Stay On These Roads、老歌新唱曲Crying In The Rain連創12首英國單曲金榜TOP 15佳作。不願遭到電子酷風退燒而被淹沒的A-HA在90年代一到馬上以專輯「East Of The Sun, West Of The Moon」突破既有格局，但卻得到樂迷冷冷的回應，在推出93年專輯「Memorial Beach」後，A-HA以全球2370萬張專輯銷售佳績為一連串的樂壇驚嘆之聲悄然畫上休止符，三位團員分道揚鑣追逐自我紛紛推出個人專輯，Morten在95年以專輯「Wild Seeds」再創挪威20萬張的銷售紀錄，Paul在96年與老婆Lauren Savoy組成Savoy樂團，接續發表3張專輯，Magne則轉為電影製作音樂。
98年12月，應諾貝爾和平獎典禮晚會之邀，A-HA重返舞台喚起樂壇對這支銜接70年代ABBA、90年代Roxette的北歐優質音樂精英的記憶，2000年春季登場的最新專輯「Minor Earth Major Sky」是A-HA與全球樂迷睽違7年的熟悉問候，自認跳過英倫搖滾世代的A-HA在新作中找回「Stay On These Roads」時期的酷酷感覺，並透過歲月洗禮後的歌聲與管絃樂的氣度烘托，延續之中帶有新的突破，The Sun Never Shone That Day、Company Man、You掞l Never Get Over Me帶點驚艷的熟悉感正是A-HA堅持與蛻變交融的心情體悟。才情風華難掩的Paul包辦10首歌曲的創作，Morten沉澱後的稚嫩歌聲有了成熟、感性與感傷的痕跡，首支單曲Summer Moved On搶先在家鄉奪冠，同時也跨升德國流行榜第8，高踞VH-1歐洲音樂錄影帶排行榜第7，Paul與老婆Lauren Savoy合寫的Velvet，非常感傷的民謠襯著奧斯陸愛樂管絃樂團的哀揚情境與無言而喻的合聲，動容的詩情魔力難以拒絕。A- HA重新出發，從心為情感找到抒懷的方向。
